J. J. Pierson has conducted his professional practice as a full-time
Arbitrator, Mediator, Fact-Finder and Conciliator since 1977. He has rendered
over 5,000 arbitration decisions in numerous industries and addressed a wide
range of issues in labor and employment, business and commercial. He is widely
recognized in the construction industry as Permanent Arbitrator on major
construction projects.
• Mr. Pierson is a Member of the National Academy of Arbitrators, a Fellow in
the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Founding Chair of the North
American Branch of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is recognized as
a Chartered Arbitrator in domestic and international commercial disputes.
• Mr. Pierson is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and The
United States District Court - District of New Jersey. He is a Member of the
American Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is the
former Chair of the International Section of the New Jersey State Bar
Association.
• Mr. Pierson has served as Arbitrator and Mediator in appointments by Federal
& State Courts and as a Special Panel Member in interest arbitration matters.
He has also been named Arbitrator and Mediator of court directed matters
involving complex litigation.
• Mr. Pierson is listed as an Arbitrator on numerous state and national panels
and has been named Permanent Arbitrator in countless collective bargaining
agreements and trust fund documents.
• With over three decades of experience in resolving labor-management disputes
in the construction industry, Mr. Pierson has been named "Permanent
Arbitrator" in dozens of major public and private construction projects and
Project Labor Agreements. He serves as Arbitrator under the national "Plan for
the Settlement of Jurisdictional Disputes in the Construction Industry".
• Mr. Pierson serves as a Director on numerous charitable and corporate
Boards.
